Trick Or Treat, Beyotches!

Happy Halloween!

First, let me begin with an explaination of the acronym NSFW (Not Safe For Work.) Simply put, it means that some content posted may not be appropriate for work, or if you tak offense to certain things easily (usually nudity.) A couple of todays links may be considered NSFW.

Today's pic is from the movie Eyes Wide Shut. Watch it if you haven't seen it, but put the kids to bed first as it is rated R for nudity, some mild drug use, and strong sexual content.

Plop this show in and bask in the glory of the opening scene - Nicole Kidman slowly taking off her clothes.

God, I love Stanley Kubrick's work.

Aside from the afore mentioned situations that lend the adult rating to the movie, there is a whole new world of color layed on film, the real reason to love the movie. No one has ever shot color the way that 'ol Stan did! Anyway, the movie has absolutely nothing to do with Halloween but this pic from the movie felt appropriate for today's post. Ever since I saw the movie I have looked for a similar mask and cloak to wear on Halloween, still haven't found them, well, the mask anyway. Now that I think about it, I still haven't found my way to the kind of costume party they have in the movie either.

Damn.

Bring It On!

Here's a shot of the new bass that I should be getting this week. I'll still be using the Fender Jazz 5-string as my main axe, but this sure will come in handy with all of the gigging that we seem to be doing these days! I ordered it last Wed with an additional 2-day shipping charge so it would be here for this past weekend's gigs - no dice. It actually ships 5-7 days.

Bummer...

Not Much To Blog Tonight...

Well, it's late and we got the comforter for the new king size delivered ala UPS today! I think I'll turn in early (4am) so I can be all geared up for today's gig on the square. We have a doubleheader again today (Paris and then the next town) and it's hard to believe that I will be up and banging my gear in front of folks in about 8 hours from now. It's gonna be an all-day adventure I can't wait to have. God, I love my job.

What was I saying again?
Oh yea, bed...

Tonight my gal and I fired up the heat in our apt for the first time. It’s cold to the degree of around 37° outside. Alas, Fall (caps?) lasted for a few hours I guess. Good 'ol Texas weather. I think I saw a few colors changing for a second or two

It's very welcome weather!

Break out the heavy clothing!

...and stay warm.

Oh yea, one more thing… the new King’s X album is finally out so pick it up. These guys are from Katy, Texas just outside Houston – one of Texas’ finest rock bands. I’ve been a fan ever since I saw them open up for ACDC in like ’89.
